Hello, friends! This past month was crazy busy for us. (Somehow every month seems to feel that way!) Among the craze, I had some amazing luck thrifting. So, I just had to show you all my most awesome thrifty picks. Many of these are things that you may see show up in future posts having been transformed.
My mom picked this window up for me at a moving sale just a couple of blocks from my house. She paid $2 for it. I’m trying to decide just what I want to do with it. There are so many fun possibilities with these old windows! I can’t wait to get started!
This accent tree came from the same moving sale as the window. It was only $3. I will probably find a new pot for it, as it doesn’t quite fit in the pot it came in. Then, I can figure out something else to do with the pot, which is a nice heavy pot. These are the best kind of house plants because I can’t kill them. Ha!
This chippy hanging basket also came from the same moving sale. I spied it hanging in a dark bathroom. I asked the owner if it was for sale since the light was not on in the bathroom. She said to make her an offer, so I offered $4. She said she would take it! I think I’m going to leave this one as is. I just need to find a good place to hang it.
I grabbed these vases from my next door neighbor’s garage sale. $5 for both. They just need some new paint and pretty stems to go in them.
So, this shelf actually came from my next door neighbor’s trash pile. I grabbed it off the curb before anyone could collect it. Free, obviously. (I’ve become one of those people… 😀 ) It definitely needs to be hosed down and redone, but I see a lot of fun potential here!
This was one of my favorite scores. I grabbed this spice rack at an estate sale on half price day. I rarely go to estate sales (they tend to be too expensive for my blood), so it was odd that I decided to stop at this one. They had great prices, though, AND everything was half off. I got this spice rack with all the glass bottles for $3. I haven’t decided just what to do with it yet. Any suggestions? (P.S. I’m dying at the bottle labeled m.s.g.)
This mirror came from the same estate sale. It was $15. It’s a very nice, heavy mirror. I am hoping to paint and redecorate the master bedroom, maybe this summer… So, I’m going to redo this mirror and use it in my bedroom.
This adorable little train case came from Goodwill. $3. I’m not sure what I’m going to use it for, but I’m anxious to make it over.
Finally, I found this table at a local antique mall. We are in the process of redoing the eat-in area of our kitchen, and I needed a new table. I had a tough time finding something that was the right style, as well as the right size. Our eat-in area is not that large, so it was difficult finding a small enough table that wasn’t round. I got this for $70 and have already made it over. Look for the finished product here on the blog in the next month or two!
Well, that’s it! Those were my best thrifty picks from the last month. Be on the lookout for lots of upcoming makeover posts. 🙂
Love that accent tree! Thanks for sharing with us at the To Grandma’s house we go link party!
Thanks so much! Me, too! I’m still trying to find the perfect place for it. 🙂
Hi Amy!
It’s fun to see what other folks grab at sales, and I enjoyed your finds. Love that thing you found in the bathroom!! It was a great score off the curbside too. Glad you’re becoming one of “those” people, LOL. It’s so much fun to score a freebie. The long tall vases are pretty too & look very MCM. I think you did good!
Thanks, Florence! I always enjoy seeing what you find on your adventures. 🙂 You can kind of get a taste of a person’s style by the things that they would consider treasure. I love the basket that came from the bathroom, as well! It’s one of my favorites!
