Naan Bread Pizza

I love pizza.  I really do.  It’s one of those foods that I could probably eat pretty regularly and not tire of.  We don’t eat out all that often, though, and most restaurant style pizza is just too heavy and greasy to eat frequently.  So, when I discovered Naan bread a few years ago, I was thrilled, as I knew it would be perfect for making pizza.  And we have been enjoying Naan bread pizza at home ever since.

At 34 weeks pregnant, I have been trying to keep dinners easy and fast, as I just don’t have the energy to prepare anything intricate right now.  We recently had a Greek pasta salad for dinner, and we had a number of ingredients leftover that were perfect to use as pizza toppings.  So, on this particular night, we ended up with Greek style pizza.  Feel free to use whatever toppings suit your fancy, though.

The Naan bread that we buy is already baked, which makes it incredibly easy.  All you have to do is load it up with toppings and pop it in the oven.  We usually use a standard tomato sauce, but have also tried pesto, as well as sun-dried tomato pesto.  You really can’t go wrong with any of them.  It all tastes delicious.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.  By the time the oven is heated, the pizza will be ready to go in.  On this particular night, we used tomato sauce, as well as kalamata olives, artichokes, and spinach.  (My husband also put onions and chicken on his.)

Then, we topped them both with some feta and shredded mozzarella.

Pop them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and just slightly browned.

Let them cool for a couple of minutes, and then they will be ready to slice up and enjoy.

We usually throw a salad together to go with it.  It is one of our favorite fast and easy meals!
