Easy 5-Minute Galvanized Farmhouse Wreath
Do you love the galvanized farmhouse wreath trend? This tutorial will show you how to make your very own farmhouse wreath in just 5 minutes (or less!).
Have you all seen those galvanized metal wreaths that are popular right now? I saw a photo of one (made out of a metal tire) floating around a while back, either on Facebook or Pinterest. I thought it was such a neat idea, that it just stuck with me.
Well, fast forward a few months, and I have created my very own! Not only that, but it was incredibly cheap and only took me about 5-minutes total.
Now, that’s my kind of craft.
If you know me at all, you know that I love a good deal. I often shop after the holidays in order to get the discount. So, you had better believe that when Hobby Lobby was clearing out (80-90% off) their “Spring Shop” decor, I went to check it out. (This typically happens in July, so be sure to keep your eye on their fliers around mid-summer!)
I was able to score some super cute items for just a couple of bucks each. (insert happy dance) One of the things that I snagged was this cute, little metal hanging planter. I believe it cost me $3. 🙂
Everything else, I already had on hand. I told you it was cheap!
Hobby Lobby regularly has sales on their floral stems, so I often will pick some up when I catch them on sale. I also snagged a whole bunch of stems from At Home a few weeks ago when they had all of their summer floral decor at 90% off.
So, even if you don’t have all the supplies on hand, you can easily catch this stuff on sale, and not have to pay too much.
Also, it’s the first Sunday of the month, which means I’m teaming up with some blogger friends to bring you even more inspiration! Don’t forget to check out their DIY Home Decor posts at the end of this one. 🙂

Supplies:
- Galvanized Metal Planter
- Small Floral Dry Foam Brick
- 3-4 greenery/floral stems
- Wire Cutters
All you need to do is find a few stems that you like and a small floral foam brick that will fit down inside the planter.
Before you actually do anything, I recommend simply holding the stems inside the planter to find an approximate arrangement that you like. (You may have to use your wire cutters to snip some of the stems to make them shorter.)
Then, simply place the foam down into the planter and shove the ends of the picks down into it.

I didn’t secure the foam in any way. The weight of the stems keeps it down inside the planter.
Since the arrangement is just sitting loose inside the planter, it will be incredibly easy to change out the look with the seasons. Cheap, easy, and versatile! Doesn’t get much better than that!
What do you think? Would you make one for yourself?

Katrin this is so so pretty. Where did you find such a pretty galvanized container? It is adorable and can be used for so much, especially flowers which bring cheer into a home.
I got the galvanized container at Hobby Lobby for around $3! I found it for 80% off when they were clearing out their spring decor. 🙂 It’s so fun, isn’t it?
It is Amy. Sorry about the name mixup too many blogs so little brain cells.! 😉
Haha! No problem. Believe me, my brain doesn’t ever function at full capacity!
That is sooooo incredibly pretty Amy. We’re not big into wreaths here in South Africa, most of the times we only wee them at funerals, but this one of yours is totally something I would hang on my door.
Oh my goodness, Michelle. I feel like wreaths are a huge part of home decor around here. They are so fun and versatile. Thanks so much for the lovely compliment! I’m glad you like it!
Amy, this is gorgeous. When I decide to get crafty, I’m coming back here for inspiration and instruction! Thank you, too, for hosting #Sweet Inspiration.
Aw, thank you so much! I’m glad you like it, and there’s not really much instruction to it. It was so easy! Thanks for taking a look!
Wow at that price it would have been rude not to take that planter home with you! The pink flowers look so pretty against the dark grey/black don’t they?
Haha! I like the way you think! And thank you so much! I do love the pop of pink against the dark background. 🙂
Thanks so much for hosting each week!!
Hugs
Debbie

Katrin, love this idea. It’s so versatile and can be changed out so easily. A great decor item.
Lynne, Thrifting Wonderland
Thanks so much, Lynne! It’s a great piece to get creative with throughout the seasons. 🙂
I love a 5 minute craft. Thanks for the tutorial! I wonder if they have these at Michael’s, there is no hobby lobby by me.
Thanks, Andrea! I haven’t been to Michael’s in awhile, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they had something similar. What a bummer that there’s no Hobby Lobby in your area!
This is so cute and I love how it can be updated for every season. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you! It’s a lot of fun to play around with!
Super cute idea, and a great bargain for $3, too! I recently bought a door basket thingy at a thrift shop and have a makeover in the works! I hope it turns out as cute as yours! Pinned!
