Thanksgiving Picture Frame Craft and Free Printable
I cannot believe we’re nearly to the end of October! This fall is just flying by in a complete blur, and the month of Thanksgiving is already quickly approaching. Last year, around this time, I made an adorable, interactive Thanksgiving picture frame with one of the mom groups that I am a part of. I absolutely loved the concept, and it was incredibly simple to make. So, I decided to make another one that better matched my decor, and share it with all of you!
This is a great way to get you, and your kids, into the spirit of Thanksgiving. The idea is to write something that you are thankful for on the frame every day, much like a gratitude journal.
Studies have shown that gratitude journals are incredibly beneficial both mentally and emotionally. They can help lower stress levels, help give you a new perspective on what is important, and help bring focus to what’s really important.
I love the fact that this frame is something that will sit out openly in your home, unlike a journal that is likely closed up next to your bed. It is a constant reminder of all the things that you have to be thankful for, and it is a fantastic way to start helping your children get into a more grateful mindset.
Supplies Needed:
-
- 8 x 10 picture frame
- Give Thanks printable
- Washi Masking Tape
- Scissors
- Dry erase marker
- 8 x 10 picture frame
The first thing you need to do is cut your printable down a bit so that it fits into your frame. (I printed on card stock, so that it would be a bit sturdier.)
Once that is done, simply lay a few strips of Washi tape across the bottom 1/3 of the printable. (You can put as much, or as little, Washi tape as you want on your printable. You will want to leave a little bit of open space in the center for writing, though.)
Then, cut off the excess Washi tape along the edges of the printable, and place the printable into your frame.
And you’re done! So easy, right?
Then, every day of the month (or year, even!), you can write down something that you, or your kids, are thankful for. It’s a great reminder of all of the blessings we have during the season of Thanksgiving.
Don’t forget to print out this free printable to put in your frame!

What a cute idea, and I love how it turned out! This is a fun way for everyone to write down daily what they are thankful for that day. I need to get me some of that Washi tape. Looks like a easy way to jazz things up.
Thanks, Linda! Definitely find you some Washi tape. It’s so easy, and so fun! It can be addicting, though. 😀
Such a great idea for expressing gratitude in our homes!
Thank you! It’s an easy way to help instill a great habit into my children. And it’s a nice reminder for the adults, as well. 🙂
