Amazingly Easy Patriotic Treats

Here are some amazingly easy red, white, and blue patriotic treats. Add a festive flair to any party or gathering this coming holiday.

The Fourth of July is just around the corner, which means barbecues, family gatherings, and celebrations galore.  And what’s a good party without some fun, holiday themed food and treats?!  I love a good, festive treat, but only if it’s easy, and fast, to put together.  Luckily for you, I’ve got a number of easy patriotic treats to share.  I have made each one of these personally and can attest to the fact that they are super simple to whip up and only take a few minutes of your time.

While the Fourth of July is fast approaching, these would be great for a number of different holidays – Memorial Day, President’s Day, and Veteran’s Day to name a few.  Here are some that I made this past Memorial Day.

White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

Healthy Patriotic Popsicles

These simple and healthy red, white, and blue patriotic popsicles are so refreshing! With only 3 ingredients, they make it easy to add a festive flair to any holiday gathering.

These were a big hit with my daughter.  They are festive, healthy, and refreshing.  And with only 3 ingredients, what more could you ask for?  Check out this post to see how easy these were to put together.

Red, White, and Blue Rice Krispie Treats

Most recently, I made these fun red, white, and blue rice krispie treats.

Although regular rice krispy treats are incredibly easy to make, these are slightly more tedious due to the three different layers.  Don’t let that deter you though!  They are still a breeze to whip up and such a great after dinner treat.

Here are the recipe and directions:

  2. 10 oz. (8 c.) mini marshmallows
  3. 9 c. Rice Krispie cereal
Instructions
  1. 1. Melt butter and marshmallows in microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted.
  2. 2. Separate mixture into three bowls.
  3. 3. Add food coloring to first bowl and mix well.
  4. 4. Add 3 c. rice krispie cereal to the bowl and mix well.
  5. 5. Press this first layer into a 9x13 pan.
  6. 6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the other two bowls. (If mixture starts to harden at all, just pop it back in the microwave for a few seconds to remelt it.)

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t leave you with a couple of slightly healthier options.

Fruit and Marshmallow Kabobs

Strawberries, blueberries, and marshmallows are all you need for these red, white, and blue fruit kabobs. They make any patriotic event fun and festive.

There’s not much explanation necessary here.  Just layer your berries and marshmallows on your skewers however you’d like.

My daughter was also a big fan of these.  🙂

And finally…

Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

These fruit and yogurt parfaits are patriotic and healthy. They make a delicious addition to any red, white, and blue celebration.

I’ve always been a big fan of parfaits, and I make them year round – not just for holidays.  Again, all this requires is simply layering some berries and yogurt together in a cup.  I used vanilla flavored greek yogurt (my favorite brand is Stonyfield) and finished them off with a bit of granola.

So, there you have it.  Hopefully, this gives you some fun (and easy!) ideas for the coming holiday!
