Did you know that last month was National Ice Cream Month? And the third Sunday in July is National Ice Cream Day?! Clearly, I missed the boat a bit for this post. BUT, I can say that my ever amazing ice cream maker has been getting a good workout this summer. Most recently, we made one of my favorites - York Peppermint Patty ice cream. (This post contains affiliate links. To see my full disclosure, go here.) A few years ago, my mom started raving about this new Cuisinart ice cream maker she had purchased. She said that it was incredibly easy to make homemade ice cream with it and that the ice cream turned out perfect, and delicious, every time. Shortly thereafter, she bought one for me as a gift. My brother and his girlfriend happened to be in ... View Post

DIY Faux Succulent Hanging Garden
While redecorating our entryway recently, I was having trouble coming up with something that could go in the narrow wall space next to our stairs. I find it to be a somewhat awkward corner to try to decorate. My original vision for the entryway included lots of greenery and texture. (This didn't exactly happen, although I'm still happy with the results.) Then, one day, with that concept it mind, an idea began to form for that narrow little space - a hanging garden. I didn't want anything real that would require maintenance, so, it needed to be something faux. Succulents are all the rage right now, and I absolutely love the look of them. So, I decided to put together a faux succulent hanging garden. Have you ever started a project and been ... View Post

Organization Ideas and Hacks for Your Child’s Room
Living with small children is like living with a continual tornado. AmIright?! I can be diligently cleaning up a mess in one room, while my two year old simultaneously destroys another. For someone who likes things neat and tidy, this can get pretty frustrating. I have found, though, that the more organized my house is, the easier it is to keep clean. This is especially true when it comes to kid rooms. Organization is key in keeping any child's room neat and tidy. We just recently moved my daughter into a new, and bigger, bedroom in order to make room for baby #2 this fall. I absolutely love the way it turned out! (You can check out the full reveal here.) We don't really have a dedicated play room in our house. So, the ... View Post
