Does anyone else feel that rugs are really difficult to shop for? Please tell me it’s not just me. I have the hardest time finding just the right rug that is not only good quality, but also affordable. Seriously. Rugs are not cheap. But they can really make or break a room. So, I’m going to share with you my favorite affordable rugs!
Over the years, I have found that the stores in my area that carry rugs either have 1) nice quality, but outrageously expensive rugs, or 2) super affordable, but poor quality rugs. And shopping online is always a gamble. I’ve ordered a couple of rugs online, and even after reading tons of reviews before deciding, I still wasn’t thrilled. That is, until I discovered Safavieh.

I was super skeptical for a number of reasons. 1 – Like I just said, it’s always a gamble ordering something that you haven’t actually viewed in person. 2 – I was worried that I wouldn’t like the shag. 3 – I was concerned about durability because I have cats who like to pick at the rugs (despite my best efforts to stop them…).
It was exactly what I was envisioning, though, AND it was in my budget. So, I ordered it.
And let me just say, I was thrilled when it arrived. It was gorgeous; it unrolled nicely and laid flat almost immediately; it is not hard to vacuum; and it has held up swimmingly against my cats. (Click here to see what it looks like in my daughter’s room.)
The next rug that I needed was for my son’s nursery. As I was putting his room together this summer, I, once again, had a very specific image of what I wanted in a rug. (Honestly, I think I came across this during my search for my daughter’s rug, and it just stuck in my mind.) Here it is.
Knowing how happy I had been with my daughter’s rug, I wasn’t quite as nervous to order this one sight unseen. And, yet again, I wasn’t disappointed. This rug is so soft and fluffy, and overall, just gorgeous. I will say, it is a bit of a workout to vacuum this rug. So, I would recommend not putting it in high traffic areas. It has been perfect in my son’s nursery though. (See it here.)
Finally, I needed a rug for my entryway that I was redecorating. I actually didn’t have anything specific in mind here. I knew I didn’t want shag though. So, I simply started browsing through the Safavieh rugs on Amazon, and when I came across this one, I fell in love.
Needless to say, I have been just as happy with this one, as I have with the others. It is obviously not as plush or heavy, but it is still gorgeous and perfect for the entryway. (See this one here.)
So, if you are looking for a new, quality, affordable rug, I definitely recommend Safavieh rugs. They have an incredibly extensive selection, and many of their rugs can be found on Amazon, which makes buying so, so easy.
I am hoping to redecorate a couple more rooms this coming summer, and here are a few rugs that I am considering for those projects.
