Welcome to month two of the Spectacular Summer Blog Hop! Boy, do we have a treat for you today.
If you are just tuning in, I’ve teamed up with 10 other fabulous bloggers to bring you some spectacular inspiration all summer long. We’ll be sharing everything from DIY projects, crafts, and recipes every Monday and Thursday for the rest of the summer.
Today, Leslie over at From Playdates to Parties is sharing a recipe that I literally can. not. wait to try. It’s called Huminta. Have you ever heard of it? No? Neither had I. It is a Bolivian corn cake that she has been enjoying ever since she met her husband 15 years ago. She describes it as having a flavor similar to cornbread, but the sweetness of a dessert. Now, I love corn bread, and I really love cake. So, this just sounds heavenly. I’m also anxious to see what my daughter thinks of it. She is a bit of a picky eater (like so many toddlers are), and I love a recipe that tastes delicious and sneaks in a couple of unexpected (i.e. healthy) ingredients. Leslie also shares a bit about the history of this dish, so you’ll want to be sure to check out her post.
Leslie is the one that kicked off our summer with some amazing printables. And here are a couple more fun facts about her.
What is the best place you’ve ever visited?
The French countryside was gorgeous, and fascinating. Plus, it comes with great wine.
What is your favorite song right now?
I don’t have a single favorite song right now. But, as the weather heats up, I enjoy more old school beach music, classic rock, and Jimmy Buffet. (That said, I still refuse to listen to most kids’ music on constant repeat.)
